Within the diverse panorama of feminism, Oyèrónkẹ Oyěwùmí and Chiara Bottici represent two of the most remarkable, unique, and influential voices. Oyèwùmi studied the intersections between gender and race and the forms of power associated with colonialism and globalisation, and has introduced an African perspective into Western thought on gender identities.
Bottici studied the role of new feminist mythologies and calls for Anarchafeminism, the quest for a new social order without an oppressor. Led by Maria Isern, poet and researcher in gender studies, this conversation will address the points of convergence between the two views and the challenges feminism faces today.
