Who makes it possible?

The Biennial of Thought is a project promoted by Barcelona City Council through the Barcelona Institute of Culture.

The programme of this new edition of the Biennial of Thought has been put together with the collaboration of professionals from different fields. Once again, the participation of the Centre for Contemporary Culture de Barcelona has contributed to nurture these six days of dialogue and shared reflection.

    Mar Rosàs

    CURATOR

    Full Professor of Bioethics at the Blanquerna Faculty of Health Sciences of the Ramon Llull University. Doctorate in 2012 with a thesis on the influence of the Jewish messianic tradition in contemporary philosophy. She is currently researching on how narratives about illness reflect and reproduce certain neoliberal logics.

    Raül Garrigasait

    CURATOR

    Writer and Hellenist. He has written essays, novels and translations. He received his PhD in 2013 with a thesis on the reception of Greek tragedy in Germany and Catalonia. He currently chairs La Casa dels Clàssics, a project that promotes the creation, thought and dissemination of universal classics.

  • Xavier Fina
    Xavier Fina

    CURATOR

    Xavier Fina has a degree in Philosophy from the UAB and a master's degree in Cultural Management from the UB. Cultural consultant and associate professor of cultural policies at the UAB and collaborator in several postgraduate courses. Since 2004 he has been a professor in the production and management department of ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya). He has collaborated with the newspaper Ara since it started publishing.

    Multidisciplinary cultural centre dedicated to exploring the major issues of contemporary society through different languages and formats, thanks to an extensive programme that includes wide-ranging thematic exhibitions, lecture series and literary meetings, as well as audiovisual screenings and festivals.

    CANNONDROM PROGRAM

    The European Capital of Democracy (ECoD) is a European initiative that aims to promote public debate and participation in today's democracy. In January 2023, Barcelona was chosen as the European Capital of Democracy  from September 2023 to November 2024. Over the course of a year of activities, a national and international program has been developed, the central axis of which is to deepen, reflect on and work for democratic values.

    ARTISTIC PROGRAM

    Production company specialized in culture that carries out projects in different fields: art, literature, thought, education and communication, as well as cultural proposals with social impact. They develop the artistic direction of festivals such as Bivac (CCCB), Límbic (Òmnium cultural), En altres paraules (CaixaForum), among others.
