The diagnosis has come in and near-unanimity has been reached: the climate crisis provoked by humans is one of the most difficult challenges humanity will have to face. This reality raises major questions: Is there a solution in which we would not have to upheave our entire social and economic model? Can we continue growing without addressing the ecological collapse? Is the vision of nature we inherited from modernity still useful today?
Professor Jason Hickel, an expert in degrowth, has put in a lot of time and effort into reflecting upon these issues to envision a post-capitalist economy, with all that entails in the social, labour, and health spheres. He will discuss the details of his thinking with Rubén Martínez, an expert in ecological transition.
