Transhumanism promises to improve the human condition with medicines and genome editing: to improve cognitive abilities such as memory and intelligence, and physical abilities including strength, resistance, and immunity to certain diseases.  In the long run, the objective is to achieve immortality.

This crucial debate which impacts everyone raises a series of questions:  What has transhumanism already done and what is left to do?  How to question the idea of a human nature that needs preserving? What ethical challenges must be faced? What ethical or security challenges could arise? How will we ethically deal with future bioengineered entities: transhumans, posthumans, non-human animals or artificial and potentially sentient entities?

We will speak with Anders Sandberg, researcher at the Institute for Future Studies, and Camil Ungureanu, professor of Political Philosophy.
