Faced with the rise of fascism and the spread of hate speech, it seems as though, in order to defend democracy, the only path we have in every election is to support the same powers that undermine it. There is no room for change or reimagining new ways of organising society.  All we are left with is to defend. Defend so they do not gain ground.

Have we fallen into a trap? Do spaces exist where we can reinvent democracy? How is it possible that the extreme right is able to connect with the unease that creates the same system it defends? Where is the will to create a better life?

In this conversation, Philosopher Amador Fernández Savater and Marea Atlántica, researcher and former town councillor for the City Hall of A Coruña for the municipal platform, will address the current democratic crisis, the limitations, and the need to renew and integrate new perceptions.
