Dancing Philosophy is a new conference-performance by the British composer and experimental musician Anthony Moore and the German media archaeologist Siegfried Zielinski, which premieres as part of the Biennial of Thought at the CCCB.
For two and a half millennia, philosophical and scientific thought in Europe was only attributed to those who were able to express themselves through written or spoken language. However, sound, rhythm, melody, and visuals have also helped us articulate thoughts and ideas. Walter Benjamin’s dialectic images and Serguei Eisenstein’s montage hit at the heart of contemporary productions.
This conference-performance by British composer and experimental musician Anthony Moore and media archaeologist Siegfried Zielinski explores new formats for offering philosophy lectures based on the potential space created by public presentations.
The session is financed by the EU’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020 thanks to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. It makes its debut at the Biennial of Thought 2024.
