What are today's cities like, and what can the gaze of women filmmakers reveal to us?

City Symphonies is a new long-range audiovisual project of the CCCB, which aims to view and analyse urban space through the personal itineraries of different filmmakers and to create a collection of audiovisual pieces that bear witness to the cities of the early 21st century.

In the first series, seven films were produced, shot in Barcelona and other cities in the metropolitan area. The selection has been made by giving voice to both established and emerging filmmakers, and working in collaboration with the professional collective Dones Visuals.

In this first session, the following films will be screened: 

Satélites by Eva Murgui, 2022, 12'30'', OV in Spanish;

Pineda '92 by Raquel Barrera, 2022, 10'21'', OV in Catalan;

and La ciutat a la vora by Meritxell Colell, 2022, 52', OV in Catalan

After the screening, there will be a discussion with the filmmakers in which they will talk about the films and the situation of today's cities.
