Beatriz Pérez Martín
Filmmaker and teacher
Director, teacher and feelmaker, she has spent more than ten years behind the camera learning to portray people and emotions. Her training began as a photographer and filmmaker, and then she graduated in Audiovisual Communication at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). During her degree, her short documentary Nobody is perfect won the DocsBarcelona, and her final project El placer es mío, a fiction feature film currently in post-production, was presented at different markets and festivals such as REC Tarragona and L'Alternativa.
She trained in advertising, personal branding and communication strategies to communicate in a more human way, understanding the current media. For her, education and art are tools for social transformation, she is always looking for the conversation she can open with her projects and currently combines her career as a freelance director and educator.
She has worked on many short film and advertising projects from different disciplines, with different production companies. She is committed to change and social action giving space to diverse stories and references, as a teacher of audiovisuals and videogames she looks for new tools to create more transgressive experiences.
She has written and directed the film Amalgama, selected for the Simfonies de ciutat project and produced by the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) in collaboration with Dones Visuals, which premiered at the D'A Film Festival 2022.
