Sonia Massari
Co-founder of FORK and director of the Future Food Academy
With over 20 years of experience as an educator, researcher, consultant and designer in fields such as human-food interaction design, education for sustainability, design thinking and creative methods for innovative agri-food systems, she is currently a researcher at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the University of Pisa (PAGE), academic director of the Future Food Academy (FFI) and senior consultant at the Barilla Foundation.
She is co-founder of Food Design for Opportunities, Research and Knowledge (FORK), an international non-profit organisation dedicated to food design. She teaches on the postgraduate course in Sociology of Change. Design for Sustainable Food Scenarios at the ISIA School of Design and Design Thinking for Sustainability at Roma Tre University. She holds a PhD in Food Experience Design from the Department of Engineering at the University of Florence and is the author of more than 50 publications in scientific journals, reports, books and articles.
She has written Trans-disciplinary Case Studies on Design for Food and Sustainability (Elsevier).
