Kant asserted that education should serve, most notably, “the best possible future condition of humanity; in other words, the idea of humanity and its full realisation.” In democracies, we negotiate about our future in order to attain fairer and freer social orders.  What dangers are our modern-day democracies exposed to? How can education help to permanently protect us from these dangers? What do mature citizens needs to know about the Constitution, legal proceedings, and last but not least, the international world order? How can they learn to be an active part of the political process? The third debate on Kant, moderated by Thomas Sturm, will be led by José Luis Martí, Professor of Philosophy of Law, and Francis Chevenal, head of the Political Philosophy Department.

Activity organized by Goethe-Institut Barcelona and Thomas Sturm. In cooperation with: Consulate General of Germany / Friends of the Goethe-Institut Spain / Ateneu Barcelonès / UAB ICREA Pro Helvetia.
