Francis Chevenal

Francis Cheneval has been a Full Professor and head of the Political Philosophy Department at the University of Zurich since 2011. He has a PhD with cum laude distinction from the University of Friburg, Switzerland and obtained his accreditation from the University of Zurich. Cheneval has held several noteworthy academic positions including visiting lecturer positions at the Free University of Brussels and the University of Nantes. His research stands out for his profound analysis of Immanual Kant’s work, the ethics of which he has applied to contemporary political and economic issues. He has participated in prominent projects such as “Challenges for Democracy in the 21st Century” and “Human Rights and Migration” which address regulatory foundations and systematic risks.
