Andrea Soto Calderón
Professor of aesthetics at UAB
Andrea Soto Calderón has a PhD in Philosophy and is a Professor of Aesthetics and Art Theories at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In addition to teaching, she also conducts research at the Virreina Centre de la Imatge in Barcelona related to the functioning of images. Her lines of research focus on the transformations of aesthetic experience in contemporary culture, artistic investigation, the study of images and media, and the relationship between aesthetics and politics.
Her recent publications include the books Le Travail des Images in collaboration with Jacques Rancière (2019), La Performatividad de las Imágenes (2020), Imaginación Material (2022), and Imágenes que Resisten. La Genealogía como Método Crítico (2023).
