César González

Argentinean film maker and writer from the lumpenproletariat

César González was born in 1989 to a very modest family in Villa Carlos Gardel, on the west side of Greater Buenos Aires. During his teenage years, he was caught up in the world of crime and was shot several times by the police. He served time between the ages of 16 and 21. When he was released, he started to work prolifically in various arts, including film and poetry. He has produced 10 full-length films (Diagnóstico Esperanza, ¿Qué Puede un Cuerpo?, Atenas, Lluvia de Jaulas, among others), 4 short films, 1 documentary, and various video clips. As a writer, he has published 6 books in total, 4 books of poetry, one of essays, and an autobiography El Niño Resentido.
