Adrià Garcia i Mateu
Designer and activist for eco-social transitions
He is a founding member of Holon SCCL and La Borda SCCL, and an expert in strategic design, design research and service design. He has more than a decade of experience in projects with organisations such as Som Energia SCCL, UN Environment or InterfaceInc. Since 2010, accompanying the design education of more than 600 students, he is a founding member of EDIVI, a Catalan network of centres promoting design for social innovation and sustainability.
He holds a degree in Design from Eina, School of Design and Art in Barcelona, was part of the EU LeNS Learning Network for Sustainability programme at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and has a Master's degree in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden. He was part of the first course on Transition Design at Schumacher College, UK. He holds a PhD from the Dimmons research group at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) in Public Policy and Ecosocial Transitions in Cooperative Housing.
